Our Artists
Our artists are Warlpiri people from Lajamanu and surrounding communities. Many are senior cultural knowledge holders who paint their Jukurrpa (Dreaming), while younger artists continue to develop their own styles, learning from Elders and family members. The artworks reflect deep connections to Country, family and ceremony, with stories that have been passed down through generations.
Artists work across a range of mediums, including acrylic painting on canvas and linen, as well as the making of traditional artefacts. Each artist brings their own approach to colour, pattern and form, creating works that are bold, confident and distinctly Warlpiri. Through the art centre, artists share these stories with audiences across Australia and internationally, while continuing the important work of passing cultural knowledge to younger generations.
