Bush Skirt Dreaming – Majardi Jukurrpa
The majardi is a skirt that is worn to cover the lower part of the body. It protects the body and also provides warmth in the colder weather. It is made of kangaroo and possum hair. Napangardi has also painted Kangaroo Food. They swirling objects are bushes that the seeds grow on that kangaroos ate. People also ate this food. Patanjarngi (Slender Pigweed) is a plant that has the water. The flowers stand straight up and is broad. It has a fluffy flower which is red or grey. Animals like cows, camels, kangaroos and turkeys eat this flower. The animals eat this flower because it contains the water inside. That’s how the bush native animals survive in the desert.
