Matrina has 2 grandmothers that were noted artists from Lajamanu. Lily Nungarrayi Hargraves, and Rosie Napurrurla Tasman. Her father also while he was alive ran the art centre. Matrina is a devoted mother and comes to the art centre to paint, talk and be with friends, while discussing Jukurrpa. She began painting at the art centre in 2018.  Her style is bright colours depicting her traditional body of knowledge and lands.
