Jupurrula started painting and began to sell his artwork in Alice Springs in the mall.   He now lives in Lajmanu after many years in Yuendumu.  His country is Winbarrku near Mt Leibig. Jupurrurla has a lot of artists in his family and learnt from them in Yuendumu.
