Crested Bell Birds Paku Paku

Paku paku is a bird that has a design on it’s chest coloured brown and when the bird stands it’s head goes up and down.  Sometimes it looks around too. When this bird sees or hears people it calls out and says “beat them, beat them!” (yarlijana pakaka, yarlijana pakaka!) in Warlpiri language.  Warlpiri people tell the bird to go away when they hear that.
