Henry and Sonya paint together in a traditional way.  Henry will instruct Sonya to paint certain works of which this is one.  Henry is old now, so she does this for him.  The Dreamings belong to Henry.  Henry Jakamarra Cook is an older gentleman now and enjoys relaxing in the art centre painting for sale. He was given his English name by Bob Hunterdale a long time ago at Mt Doreen, while still a young man or child. Another name he was given is Dennis by Bill Bradley at McHunty Outstation in Mt Doreen area.  Jakamarra was born in the desert but has traveled on foot through the Tanami. He also traveled extensively as a stockman on horse back to WA, NSW and Victoria. Now he looks forward to a trip 300kms south to his country Yartulu Yartulu, the Granites Gold Mines, in the Tanami.  Sonya Napaljarri Cooke DOB 1963 is an artist in her own right.  She is a traditional lady knowing her culture and history and began painting in the early ’80’s.  Napaljarri is also a Director of the Lajamanu art centre.
